Sweet Tea (Gallon Size)

Equipment:

  • Stove
  • 1 Medium-Sized Saucepan with Lid
  • 1 Gallon Size Pitcher with Lid
  • 1 Eating Utensil Butter Knife
  • Large Wooden Spoon
  • ICE (Preferably Bagged or Filtered Water Ice)

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Level Granulated Sugar
  • Running Water
  • 4 Family Size Luzianne Tea Bags

Pre-Preparation:

  1. Lay out all ingredients/equiptment15 minutes prior to cooking/baking.

Directions:

  1. In a Medium-Sized Saucepan, add enough running water to fill the pan about half full. Do not cover with the lid YET.
  2. Place the Saucepan on the stove to boil on hi heat.
  3. In your Gallon Sized Pitcher, using your Eating Utensil Butter Knife level off and add in your 2 Cups Granulated Sugar and set aside.
  4. Once your water has come to a raging boil, add in your 4 Family Size Tea Bags leaving the tabs outside the pan.
  5. Once water reaches a raging boil, add in tea bags let them boil for about 10 seconds and then cover pot with lid and remove from heat.
  6. Steep for 15 Minutes
  7. When the 15 Minutes is up, remove cover from saucepan.
  8. Remove and allow teabags to drain above the saucepan and discard tea bags.
  9. Pour tea into Gallon Size Pitcher with the granulated sugar.
  10. Place Pitcher under slow running water until the tea rises approximately 2-inch below the spout or rim of Pitcher.
  11. Place pitcher on counter and cover with lid with some ventilation available for heat to escape.
  12. Pour tea over your ICE of choice. (for a better taste use bagged ICE. ) & enjoy.
  13. Place pitcher in refrigerator.
