Quick & Easy Fudge Cake

Equipment:

  • Wax Paper
  • 2 9-Inch Layer Cake Pans
  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 4 Squares (4 oz) Unsweetened Chocolate
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Soft Butter or Margarine
  • 3/4 Cup Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Eggs

Pre-Preparation:

  1. Lay out all ingredients/equiptment15 minutes prior to cooking/baking.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 3500F
  2. Fit wax paper in bottom of 9-Inch Layer Pans
  3. Place Unsweetened Chocolate, Water, & 1/2 Cup Sugar in saucepan.
  4. Cook & Stir on low heat to form a smooth sauce.
  5. Set Chocolate Sauce aside.
  6. Place in a large mixing bowl and blend on low speed, Flour, Baking Soda, Salt, & rest of sugar  (1 1/2 Cup).
  7. Add butter or Margarine and Milk to bowl.
  8. Blend to moisten Flour and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  9. Blend in chocolate mixture.
  10. Add Vanilla and Eggs.
  11. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes
  12. Pour into pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  13. Allow cake to cool for 10 minutes.
  14. Remove from pans and peel off wax paper. Yields 12-16 servings.
